[00:02:04,019]: I love to spoil you [00:02:04,919]: You’re like a hot young woman I’m trying to have sex with [00:02:07,120]: I spoil you all the time [00:02:08,699]: Speaking of tricoxin that’s never happening [00:02:10,580]: Just for the listeners that’s an upsetting and triggering thing [00:02:13,600]: It’s never happening [00:02:14,919]: Huge disappointment on my end [00:02:16,419]: Anyways [00:02:34,520]: I’m saving you from yourself and your pretentious friend who thinks that if they go Gannes that means they took French in 11th grade at some overpriced private school [00:02:42,619]: It’s Cannes [00:02:43,699]: But go ahead [00:02:44,520]: It’s Cannes [00:02:45,100]: Why is it Cannes [00:02:46,039]: But not to the French that’s not [00:02:46,740]: Because that’s how you pronounce it [00:02:48,080]: But it’s not [00:02:49,240]: It’s not [00:02:49,639]: OK [00:02:50,160]: OK Cara Schweicher [00:02:51,619]: Schweicher [00:02:52,660]: No no [00:02:53,380]: No but anyways we’re clock whatever time day it was [00:03:07,119]: That’s called the worst red eye in the world [00:03:08,699]: That means you get no sleep [00:03:09,820]: No it was nice [00:03:09,839]: It was British Airways [00:03:10,820]: It was lovely [00:03:11,539]: And I went through London yeah [00:03:13,220]: Oh you got it [00:03:14,740]: There’s no direct flight from Washington D C I got to speak to your brother [00:03:18,300]: This is enough [00:03:19,119]: I’m doing an intervention [00:03:20,720]: OK [00:03:21,080]: You need to learn how to take better care of yourself [00:03:23,220]: You need to come Friday [00:03:24,419]: You need to hang out at the pool [00:03:26,100]: Oh no I can’t do that [00:03:27,440]: I can’t have a little rosé [00:03:29,139]: No couldn’t bring my kids [00:03:30,240]: Do you know how Daddy’s getting into the Palais tonight [00:03:32,160]: He’s taking a Zodiac [00:03:33,539]: I’m putting on a jacket [00:03:34,639]: I’m crashing Meta Beach and they’ll all be freaked out [00:03:37,179]: I’m like I have a meeting with Sheryl Sandberg here [00:03:39,279]: I’m going where you are tonight [00:03:41,479]: Supposedly [00:03:42,320]: Oh yeah [00:03:42,360]: To the some I Heart party or something [00:03:45,080]: Yeah [00:03:45,440]: Is that the I Heart [00:03:46,419]: Is that Kasson [00:03:47,160]: Yeah [00:03:47,740]: Yeah [00:03:48,000]: Oh good [00:03:48,759]: I like Michael [00:03:49,839]: I just mentioned Michael [00:03:50,880]: Yeah [00:03:51,279]: They’re always competing parties at your fancy hotel [00:03:53,699]: But go ahead [00:03:54,419]: Yeah [00:03:54,619]: And then I got a Salesforce thing and then a Google thing [00:03:57,660]: Wow [00:03:57,979]: Yeah [00:03:58,380]: I got a bunch of stuff going on [00:03:59,679]: All because of you [00:04:00,460]: Oh see I’m glad [00:04:02,320]: Well you should fly me here on a private plane [00:04:04,500]: That would be nice for all the money I’ve got you over the years [00:04:06,940]: It’s probably not a big amount of money but it’s a substantive amount [00:04:10,580]: Anyway we’re in France because we’re here shilling advertisers correct [00:04:13,839]: We’re going to do a live pivot and people are very excited [00:04:15,880]: And I met many people on the airplanes who love pivot [00:04:19,579]: I love it here [00:04:20,559]: I love the South [00:04:21,779]: I love I’m warming to French people [00:04:24,299]: I love the food here [00:04:25,959]: It’s so nice [00:04:27,299]: Yeah [00:04:27,600]: Macron is like a great world leader right now [00:04:30,040]: Yeah [00:04:30,399]: I think France has got a spicy wife [00:04:32,320]: He’s got a spicy wife [00:04:33,540]: Occupying the spacey commands [00:04:34,959]: I like it here [00:04:35,980]: Isn’t he not here [00:04:37,019]: He’s with the G7 right [00:04:38,519]: Is he in Canada [00:04:39,359]: Yeah they’re in Canada [00:04:41,279]: Yeah [00:04:41,339]: So he’s not here [00:04:42,279]: France Canada [00:04:42,880]: France [00:04:43,279]: Same same [00:04:44,480]: France [00:04:44,600]: Vice President France Cannes [00:04:47,059]: Cannes in France [00:04:48,059]: Let’s go to Cannes in France [00:04:49,559]: Oh my God [00:04:50,040]: It’s Cannes in France [00:04:52,480]: Anyway it is [00:04:53,920]: You’re so incredible [00:04:55,519]: Try Cox again [00:04:56,100]: OK [00:04:56,500]: You’re off your meds [00:04:57,799]: OK [00:04:58,059]: All right [00:04:58,399]: You’re off your meds [00:04:59,260]: We’re going to be getting together a lot and we’re going to have a good time here [00:05:02,720]: We always do [00:05:03,519]: But we’ve got a lot to get to today [00:05:05,279]: There’s actually some very serious things happening besides the rain on Trump’s military parade which was a big he he caught the L train on that one [00:05:12,980]: The No King’s protests which are actually quite substantive in the United States and the missile attacks between Israel and Iran [00:05:20,820]: But first I mean this story is you know dominated the headlines this weekend [00:05:25,640]: A Minnesota man has been charged after the murder of two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses [00:05:30,720]: The Democratic lawmakers were shot early Saturday morning in their homes [00:05:35,640]: Officials are also considering federal charges against the suspect 57 year old Vance Bolter who wore a weird mask and pretended he was a cop [00:05:45,559]: Senator State Representative Melissa Hortman who sounds incredible and her husband were killed [00:05:50,500]: State Senator John Hoffman and his wife were seriously injured [00:05:54,420]: Authorities found a list in Bolter’s car naming around 70 potential targets including Democratic politicians and abortion providers [00:06:02,859]: A 2020 state report lists Bolter as having no party preference but his roommate says he voted for Trump and was a strong supporter [00:06:11,239]: Elon Musk had his own thoughts as usual inserting himself grotesquely into the proceedings of this writing [00:06:17,579]: He said the far left [00:06:18,260]: What do you think he called the Marxist [00:06:19,640]: Is that right [00:06:20,320]: The Marxist [00:06:20,540]: That was Mike Lee from Utah [00:06:22,239]: It was also a heinous piece of shit [00:06:24,019]: He said the far left is murderously violent in response to an ex post about the shootings and other attacks [00:06:29,299]: He’s absolutely wrong [00:06:30,720]: This guy [00:06:31,640]: I’m sorry Democratic state senators are murdered and Democrats are murdered [00:06:34,839]: Someone who is very clearly disturbed and also Trump supporter [00:06:40,339]: I want to discuss these shootings the implications [00:06:43,739]: But first let’s listen to Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar who both of us now talk about her friend who she had dinner with the night before she died Representative Melissa Hortman on Meet the Press [00:06:53,779]: We started out together in politics moms with young kids and somehow she was able to balance getting to know every doorknock every house in her district while raising two children Girl Scout leader [00:07:07,739]: She was she taught Sunday school and maybe all that juggling made it easier for her as she worked her way up in the legislature and became this extraordinary speaker of the house ushering in everything from free school lunch to working with the governor and other leaders to do some landmark legislation on paid family leave to this year working with her Republican counterpart when we pretty much had a tied legislature to get the budget done [00:07:36,260]: That’s Melissa Hortman my friend [00:07:38,480]: And when you think about political violence and the statistics of political violence you’ve got to realize the people who are behind it [00:07:45,959]: Anyway she’s been she’s been quite broken up about it obviously [00:07:51,359]: Violent threats against members of Congress hit a record high last year [00:07:55,739]: I’ve been I’ve been told this by very well known people congressional people that they’ve gotten a huge amount of death threats this year Democratic ones [00:08:04,079]: For the second year in a row according to Capitol Police there have been other recent incidents in the last few months [00:08:09,320]: There was a killing of two Israeli embassy staffers in D C an arson attack on Governor Josh Shapiro’s home [00:08:16,079]: We saw obviously the two Trump assassination attempts last year [00:08:20,820]: One got very close [00:08:23,179]: What do you think about this rhetoric [00:08:25,299]: It will get worse [00:08:26,140]: I mean I don’t know what to say [00:08:28,980]: People are in their homes [00:08:29,839]: It’s easy to find people [00:08:31,899]: A lot of the people who are state senators and local politicians do not have the protection that U S national people have [00:08:40,599]: But even those people are pretty exposed [00:08:44,299]: What what has to happen here [00:08:46,400]: Pam Bondi thank God made the appropriate response [00:08:49,000]: And so did Trump although light I would say [00:08:52,559]: So what do you what do you make of what’s happening here [00:08:55,659]: You’ve talked about this [00:08:57,140]: You know you were talking about civil war obviously recently [00:08:59,799]: But this is something that I guess is not a surprise and yet is horrifying at the same time [00:09:05,799]: Yeah well look there’s no getting around it [00:09:08,919]: It’s a tragedy for the family senseless death senseless murder [00:09:12,719]: I thought Senator Klobuchar was very statesperson like in her comments [00:09:17,940]: I thought Governor Walz did his best to address the situation in a in a in the correct tone [00:09:25,070]: If you think about I was I was saying about climate change and that is we’ve created a context or atmospheric such that we might have mass migrations super fires terrible weather events that hurt the economy hurt the poorest in the two big puffs of carbon into the air [00:09:41,419]: They created these atmospherics where the industrialization of China and the consumerization of the car specifically Americans moving to the suburbs and the embrace of the car [00:09:50,580]: And I think we’ve created an atmosphere for a lot of political violence and the two puffs of carbon into the air if you will [00:09:57,559]: I do think social media which has a profit motive around pitting us against each other has just created an atmosphere where we’re convinced the enemy is within [00:10:07,960]: And then polarization at the hands of income inequality people are just generally angry you know when they wake up and they feel like they’ve worked hard and they have medical debt [00:10:17,020]: And then social media convinces them that their enemy is their neighbor [00:10:21,500]: And so like what can be done [00:10:24,039]: This is a multipronged problem [00:10:25,580]: This talks about access to guns [00:10:27,140]: This talks about mental health [00:10:28,479]: This talks about you know the strain of of lack of job prospects [00:10:33,599]: This obviously political political violence [00:10:37,020]: What you hope you get from our leaders is thoughts around bold solutions that that decarbonize the atmosphere as opposed to trying to take advantage of the moment and start issuing blame on the other side because there’s been political violence against both parties [00:10:52,340]: But other than saying we all have an obligation to try and take the temperature down I do think it’s time probably for some sort of and you’ve been talking about this for a while legislation around hate speech that says you this rhetoric this tone when you call someone when your first reaction was to call these people Marxist [00:11:10,380]: Right [00:11:10,859]: That’s not helping [00:11:11,859]: Yeah it’s also inaccurate [00:11:14,400]: Yeah it’s also inaccurate but go ahead [00:11:16,640]: So you know I don’t I’ll finish where I started [00:11:20,239]: My your heart goes out to the families of these people who were murdered [00:11:23,659]: And then you hear about this guy’s background and he’s a murderer [00:11:28,659]: And I trust and hope he’s brought to justice [00:11:31,460]: But you you know the whole thing is just awful [00:11:33,979]: The whole thing it just puts it leaves you with a pit in your stomach [00:11:37,020]: Yeah he sounds like someone who’s been drifting [00:11:39,760]: But although not your typical profile of sort of these sort of loner angry people he has five kids very religious which is no no thing against him [00:11:51,419]: Tried to do tried to make it like we sort of pretend being a cop in his business apparently didn’t get off the ground [00:11:57,419]: He was working at a funeral home [00:11:58,820]: He was collecting eyeballs for operations for people [00:12:04,200]: He had a series of sort of jobs and he was living in Minneapolis or near in Minneapolis [00:12:09,859]: And he lived his family lived in rural Minnesota but was living with this [00:12:15,280]: Why this roommate knew him so well but like struggling struggling of someone who’s struggling obviously become more and more religious and had become born again which has nothing to do with this [00:12:28,940]: But he just he got sort of very politicized around his religion and abortion specifically [00:12:37,500]: And just this is someone you wouldn’t necessarily think of cracking [00:12:41,900]: Right [00:12:42,200]: That would do it reminds me a little bit of the Luigi Mangione thing too who seemed to be in a that’s what it reminded me [00:12:49,679]: I was like why did this guy [00:12:51,419]: Yeah but that kid was high school valedictorian [00:12:53,140]: I mean that was really strange [00:12:54,780]: That was he was he was a valedictorian and he had a back pain and he had all kinds of things [00:12:59,739]: Again no excuse zero explanation [00:13:03,520]: Like you can sort of start to see how this pieces together [00:13:05,820]: But what set him off to say this [00:13:08,979]: I mean looks like he was going to target some of these no kings rallies [00:13:12,900]: It looks like what’s what got him [00:13:14,780]: Was it mental illness [00:13:15,940]: Was it you know just what was it you know that he was cosplaying a cop and had to do this [00:13:23,380]: And you know and this woman sounds wonderful like did all these astonishing things helped people enormously like one of these wonderful public servants who just was service service service service to other people and brought them all manner of things protecting kids from gun violence free lunch abortion access et cetera [00:13:46,780]: So it’s just I just I really would like to this is it’s sickening [00:13:52,479]: It’s sickening because it’s not I don’t maybe he was mentally ill [00:13:55,299]: I don’t know [00:13:55,960]: I don’t know [00:13:56,559]: But it seems like everybody’s mentally ill now in that regard and not your classic loner gunman kind of thing [00:14:03,179]: I mean and you know he’s he’s he’s he’s got five kids to take that step is really I don’t even I don’t even I couldn’t even begin to understand it [00:14:14,239]: It’s it’s it is this rhetoric [00:14:16,260]: It’s the polarization [00:14:17,919]: It’s you know religions getting too political like right [00:14:22,479]: The Southern Baptist deciding they’re going after gay marriage now [00:14:25,520]: What is wrong with them [00:14:27,119]: Like you know you thought that was sort of settled and it’s not obviously [00:14:31,780]: But creating levels of anger and ways that were different rather than ways that were same [00:14:38,219]: I don’t know [00:14:38,760]: It’s just it’s just sickening [00:14:40,640]: And I am scared for a lot of people [00:14:42,780]: I have to say I’m very scared for I’ve been told by a number of politicians that the death threats have gone up substantively for them [00:14:52,059]: Yeah for me I mean it’s a tough one but we don’t have a monopoly on mental illness [00:14:58,020]: We do have a little bit of a monopoly for a nation as prosperous as us around income inequality and polarization [00:15:04,179]: But I still think almost all of this comes down to easy access to guns [00:15:09,520]: It’s just you know when when there’s a mentally ill guy who goes on a rampage in Britain he stabs two people and one of them [00:15:17,039]: Although in Australia they do [00:15:17,919]: I mean excuse me Austria they just had an attack but go ahead and school attack [00:15:22,000]: But just the prevalence of like this is just this is just awful all the way around [00:15:29,000]: It’s very hard to find a single cause [00:15:33,080]: It’s very hard to outline a solution [00:15:36,280]: But again I think the politicians on both sides you know it’s just so upsetting when you see people try and politicize it and use it as fodder to blame the other side [00:15:45,880]: And Mike Lee were repulsive were repulsive [00:15:49,000]: Like even Trump knew not to right [00:15:51,739]: He may do it in the coming days [00:15:53,820]: But both Mike Lee and Elon Musk just reacted in exactly the way they’re not supposed to as always because they’re you know and of course look at me you know in a situation that has nothing to do with either of them [00:16:07,659]: Should keep their mouth shut [00:16:08,979]: That’s what they should do [00:16:10,059]: But anyway our heart goes out to these families [00:16:13,039]: And there’s two people recovering supposedly the people who were shot John Hoffman and his wife [00:16:19,419]: But to come to people’s homes and do this is just a height of depravity [00:16:24,659]: I don’t know what else to say [00:16:28,921]: Anyway speaking of weirdnesses being in Washington this weekend for this military parade was a hot I have to say [00:16:35,901]: This town was empty [00:16:37,441]: It really was [00:16:38,161]: He had his birthday military parade Trump did which included over 6 000 soldiers and 100 tanks reportedly far less than the expected 200 000 attendees [00:16:48,981]: I would be surprised if there were 100 000 there [00:16:51,961]: It was a ghost town [00:16:53,761]: It was really interesting [00:16:54,661]: The parade was sponsored by several brands with close ties to the president including Palantir and Coinbase meaning pay per play [00:17:02,081]: The whole thing was overshadowed by over 5 million people attending over 2 000 No King’s protests around the country which looked like a lot of fun [00:17:12,161]: Let’s read off some of the fun signs people had [00:17:14,341]: They seemed largely peaceful I think and quite festive almost and also determined which was interesting [00:17:21,141]: I don’t know if it makes a difference [00:17:22,141]: But if a dictator throws a military parade and no one watches it did it really happen [00:17:26,781]: Off with his toupee [00:17:27,981]: If Kamala were president we’d be at brunch [00:17:30,501]: Donnie the quicker fucker upper [00:17:32,761]: We’re all on the couch now [00:17:34,241]: We’re all the couch now [00:17:35,461]: You sucked in Home Alone 2 There were tons of them [00:17:38,341]: One was a picture of Melania Trump dressed in the Handmaid’s Tale of Taco which I thought was very funny [00:17:46,321]: Here’s the one thing there was a piece by Max Booth that got a little negative attention I think was about the military looked good looked like they you know we should honor these people that serve but doing it at the behest of Trump and making it a pathetic kind of parade was you know there was some really interesting revolutionary stuff [00:18:06,201]: It’s the 250th anniversary of the army which was you know founded at the beginning of our country at the same time [00:18:14,201]: And so they do deserve you know attention and being treated with respect and everything else [00:18:21,461]: There were all kinds of sort of conspiracy theories all over the place including that they were marching [00:18:27,041]: They weren’t marching correctly as a protest which was odd [00:18:30,501]: I just don’t think there were a lot of people there [00:18:32,081]: I don’t know if people people might have cheered if there were a lot of people but it was it was empty as as could be which was just interesting [00:18:42,021]: I thought I thought there’d be more people there [00:18:43,761]: Anyway your thoughts [00:18:45,341]: I think it’s like when I’ve heard of friends getting a bar at Bob Mitzvah late in life and like no one everyone shows up and pretends this isn’t strange [00:18:53,061]: I just or you know they get a Christian or my favorite that I’ve never been to which says I’m banging my assistant a recommitment ceremony [00:19:04,241]: Those are my favorite [00:19:07,001]: I gotta be honest [00:19:08,501]: I enjoy I thought it was so fucking I just enjoyed reveling in how stupid and lame this thing was [00:19:13,301]: And there’s no way he didn’t know it [00:19:14,721]: I turned on the TV just to see some footage [00:19:17,761]: And actually I thought to myself you know actually it looks pretty cool [00:19:20,961]: And then I realized I was watching the Mexican Independence Day parade [00:19:25,841]: Like I love when I was in San Francisco which is the most liberal city in the world the whole place loved Fleet Week and F 15s used to buzz like planes and you go and you kind of just look up and regardless of your political affiliation you think yeah you think well it’s pretty cool to be American [00:19:42,281]: And I like the fact that if anyone fucks with us they got to deal with these guys [00:19:46,561]: There’s a lot of ways [00:19:47,681]: Fleet Week is fun in San Francisco [00:19:48,221]: You’re right [00:19:48,921]: It really is [00:19:49,261]: Yeah [00:19:49,521]: And it’s great [00:19:50,381]: And it’s a show off of military hardware [00:19:53,181]: But doing it you know the whole thing I you know I gotta be honest [00:19:57,441]: I enjoyed it because it was just so sad for the president [00:20:00,381]: The Russian state media was laughing at Trump’s parade [00:20:04,361]: They’re like they don’t know how to throw up [00:20:05,621]: They do [00:20:06,081]: The Soviets no [00:20:07,081]: My favorite was the the the No King’s ones looked really fun [00:20:11,221]: I didn’t go to any but they looked really fun especially in smaller cities [00:20:16,041]: They look kind of festive and everything [00:20:18,201]: There was tons and tons and tons of them [00:20:20,241]: Really well done [00:20:20,721]: That was the contrast [00:20:21,941]: I think that’s what No King’s did correctly from a marketing point of view [00:20:25,881]: And the other the whole No King’s with with people in on the beach in San Francisco and Ocean Beach spelling out No King’s but with bodies which was cool [00:20:36,601]: And they had a drone shot very creative very fun [00:20:40,821]: And again the smaller cities was was very moving [00:20:44,141]: I know [00:20:45,021]: And all these all these people were really coming out [00:20:48,021]: It was you know from a marketing point of view I don’t know Scott thoughts [00:20:53,081]: You’re exactly right [00:20:54,121]: It was the not only were they really successful but the key was the contrast [00:20:59,701]: They were creative [00:21:00,961]: It looked like it looked like a good time [00:21:04,901]: And and generally speaking there are three firewalls between what has traditionally been you know a constitutional democracy and the things we’ve come to I think take for granted in this what I think is this slow increasingly fast burn to fascism [00:21:21,781]: And the first is the courts and I would argue the courts are mostly holding [00:21:25,381]: There’s been some controversial decisions down from the Supreme Court because they’re not used to a criminal president but most of the most of the issues that have been presented before the court the court says no we can’t do this [00:21:36,941]: Unfortunately he can move faster than the courts and a lot of the damage can’t be undone [00:21:41,401]: The second buffer is the media [00:21:44,921]: And I think I you know I’m mixed on the media [00:21:46,561]: I think it’s doing its level best [00:21:48,501]: I think it’s the lack of coverage around this multibillion dollar crypto scam has been very frustrating for me but they are unafraid [00:21:55,001]: I do think there’s been good coverage of a lot of especially around the immigration issue and the illegal deportation of people [00:21:59,661]: I thought they were trying to be too fair on this thing [00:22:01,061]: This was a bust of a parade [00:22:02,661]: It just was [00:22:03,381]: There was no other way around [00:22:04,941]: That’s called the New York Times [00:22:06,741]: I know [00:22:07,061]: But it was kind of like [00:22:08,001]: The self hating New York Times that can’t ever have moral clarity around anything [00:22:11,281]: CNBC did it too [00:22:12,521]: I was like I know you’re trying really hard but this wasn’t good [00:22:15,401]: And even Marco Rubio looked bored [00:22:17,201]: Well CNBC has anchors that speak they tuck in the president every night [00:22:22,841]: But the contrast from a marketing standpoint it was Coke versus Pepsi and Pepsi just cleaned Coke’s clock because the moment they went from one image to the other it was like Trump sitting there like [00:22:37,261]: Supposedly as a high schooler the best thing you can do to establish social capital is to throw a rockin party [00:22:42,421]: You can be a near cool kid and elevate yourself to cooldom by throwing an amazing party when your parents are out of town where they show up and the garage is on fire and the dog is barking and have a fucking crazy party [00:22:52,981]: And this was okay I have more money I’m more powerful and I threw just the lamest party [00:23:00,341]: And then the juniors the kids who aren’t as cool had impromptu parties all over and they were much more fun and they were much bigger and everybody showed up [00:23:10,561]: But where I was headed was the third firewall here is citizenry and citizenship [00:23:17,041]: And I do think that Americans have become somewhat fat and happy and that a lot of us take for granted the incredible prosperity and rights that we have inherited many of us have not earned [00:23:28,201]: And to see citizens take their weekend day from their kids from relaxation from making more money and go march with several hundred thousand of their fellow citizens it’s really inspiring [00:23:39,261]: And there’s some data on this actually [00:23:41,821]: I guess about 1 8 percent of Americans turned out and there’s actual research that shows if you get to three there’s never been civic activity or protests where more than three or more percent or more of the population shows up where there isn’t significant change around the policies there [00:23:59,841]: And so we’re getting close [00:24:01,761]: You know Paul Krugman wrote an interesting piece [00:24:03,741]: He went to one of the rallies and it was titled Trump’s Parade Fill Up No Kings Was a Hit [00:24:08,821]: And he said that right now images largely determine the outcome [00:24:12,361]: And he wrote something he goes Trumpists however haven’t fully consolidated their hold [00:24:16,001]: America still has a chance of reclaiming itself from the grip of brazen corruption mindless destruction and contempt for both the rule of law and for our erstwhile allies [00:24:23,801]: We don’t have to become country bullied into submission but we’re teetering on the edge [00:24:27,441]: One of the most important ways we can step back from that edge is for ordinary Americans to engage in mass protests [00:24:33,841]: And I think he’s right [00:24:34,921]: I think it’s I think it’s just not just that because crowd size does matter [00:24:41,221]: I mean we all joked about Trump making saying that he had a bigger inauguration initial inauguration than Barack Obama which he didn’t [00:24:49,601]: But but it’s it’s like this it has the feel of a loser to it [00:24:53,961]: And I think it sort of makes people feel more bold if that’s the case [00:25:00,081]: But it doesn’t mean that difficult times aren’t ahead because these people aren’t going away [00:25:05,741]: I mean they bring in their guns they’re bringing their they’re bringing their threats and everything else [00:25:10,601]: But it is important you know as several politicians like Pritzker and others of saying this is what has to happen [00:25:17,241]: And there is a weariness that comes with this kind of thing [00:25:21,601]: But it was I think you have that juxtaposition of this bad parade and this enthusiastic [00:25:28,081]: It gives him it affects his image I think of being old and a loser kind of thing [00:25:35,661]: Like and I think that does stick with people [00:25:38,001]: Maybe not [00:25:38,841]: There is a correlation between people’s ability to bring signs to any public place and have free speech [00:25:46,541]: And at the same time there’s an inverse correlation [00:25:49,381]: The nations the nations that are more prone and ought to have tanks and military hardware on public streets generally speaking have a citizenry that has few rights [00:26:01,781]: And so you’re just signaling to the world an erosion in individual rights of its citizenry [00:26:08,301]: The more often you have tanks on boulevards where there are laws built in a couple hundred years old that said for example the military can’t be weaponized to arrest citizens [00:26:20,301]: There’s the whole point is our military [00:26:22,881]: We’re not even very good [00:26:24,161]: Our fine young men and women aren’t very good at marching [00:26:27,261]: Why [00:26:27,521]: Because they trained to kill people and defend our shores as opposed to [00:26:31,281]: They are good at marching [00:26:32,821]: Several army people were like that was on purpose just so you know [00:26:36,221]: And I was like OK I would rather they be good at killing bad guys than practicing marching all the time in Pyongyang [00:26:42,881]: It’s just that that’s that’s not an indication [00:26:45,921]: Your ability to throw on a parade and march by your dear leader in unison is not an accurate reflection of the strength and fighting power [00:26:53,681]: And again when your tanks when you see your tanks on Wilshire Boulevard or on Fifth Avenue or marching up Northwest 17th or whatever the street is that’s a bad sign [00:27:04,421]: You’re not supposed to have that [00:27:06,361]: That’s the sign of a society where you’re the leader is either not focused on the well being the psychological and material well being of the citizens and has decided to in some way in trying to intimidate the local populace like no one’s no one’s scared of that [00:27:23,721]: I don’t think anyone was scared [00:27:24,661]: I’ll tell you the best part [00:27:25,741]: This was sort of the old costumes the old tanks the old the old weaponry the vintage stuff was interesting [00:27:32,281]: And so were the outfits even the revolutionary ones [00:27:34,721]: And then I like the feats of strength on the everyone was making fun of this [00:27:38,981]: I’m like what do you care if they’re doing feats of you know they were hanging off of things doing a lot of health stuff [00:27:43,461]: I thought that was fine [00:27:44,801]: I know Pete Hegseth loves that stuff [00:27:46,461]: And that’s the only part that I think was cool [00:27:48,781]: Well anyway Trump you’re a loser and Elon whatever [00:27:52,221]: Elon even tweeted a no King’s thing [00:27:55,261]: It was interesting [00:27:56,421]: We’ll get to that in a second actually [00:27:58,781]: OK Scott let’s go on a quick break [00:28:00,441]: And when we come back Trump tries to make peace between Israel and Iran [00:28:05,481]: Oh dear [00:28:07,241]: Support for Pivot comes from IBM [00:28:09,901]: Bigger isn’t always better especially with A I [00:28:12,361]: Supersized models can drain your budget fast [00:28:15,201]: Smaller ones are smart and can help cut A I [00:28:17,221]: costs up to 90 percent [00:28:18,961]: Right size your models at IBM dot com [00:28:22,421]: The A I [00:28:23,001]: built for business [00:28:24,181]: IBM [00:28:25,341]: Scott we’re back [00:28:26,421]: President Trump is urging Israel and Iran to make peace saying the two countries should make a deal and will make a deal [00:28:31,441]: The long standing conflict between the two countries escalated late last week with Israel’s surprise attack on Iran although Trump signaled it pretty clearly [00:28:38,761]: The attack targeted Iranian nuclear and military facilities killing top generals and nuclear scientists [00:28:45,121]: Iran retaliated and missile strikes from both sides have continued for four days rising civilian casualties [00:28:51,241]: The White House is denying any U S involvement in Israel’s actions though Trump reportedly nixed the plan to kill Iran’s leader over the weekend [00:28:57,861]: He’s also warning that Iran will face the full strength and might unite U S armed forces if the U S is attacked in any way [00:29:04,821]: Oh God this feels like a gulf again [00:29:07,961]: I don’t know [00:29:08,661]: But what have you been thinking over the past few days [00:29:11,221]: And what do you think about his role in all this [00:29:12,961]: A lot of people feel that it was you know stopping these Iranian centrifuges from spinning up was a very good idea at the same time [00:29:23,641]: Trump seems way past his depth [00:29:26,701]: And there’s a fight within MAGA over over this [00:29:29,321]: Marjorie Taylor Greene or another don’t think we should be there at all [00:29:32,781]: So it’s also politically problematic for him [00:29:36,121]: Well obviously I think a lot about this [00:29:37,881]: I think the Ukrainian army and the IDF are doing the dirty dangerous work for the West [00:29:44,201]: I think I think of the presidency and leadership is around capital allocation [00:29:48,161]: And I think there’s few things that have shown a greater return than backing the Ukrainian army and also the intelligence and military support of the IDF there [00:29:59,661]: America has four quote unquote enemies or perceived enemies China Iran North Korea and Russia [00:30:06,021]: I would argue China is actually not an enemy [00:30:08,481]: They’re a competitor [00:30:09,261]: And if a competitor is doing really well and getting in striking distance of America America tends to think of them as an enemy which I think is a little bit unfair [00:30:15,701]: But that’s another talk show [00:30:17,181]: But three of the four have a nuclear weapon [00:30:19,641]: And I just don’t think there’s any getting around it [00:30:21,741]: I think the West the U S and especially Israel our closest ally in the Gulf [00:30:27,641]: And in my view the only ally we can count on given it’s a democracy and shares our values if shit gets real over there we are just better off if Iran does not have a nuclear weapon [00:30:38,461]: And the Atomic International Agency just last week issued a statement and its 35 member nations many of whom are not pro Israel saying that Iran was barreling towards a nuclear weapon and had engaged in massive deception and that Biden had tried really hard through diplomacy to take them back or get them to step back from the development of a nuclear bomb [00:31:04,021]: I think Trump’s trashing the agreement in 17 probably didn’t help [00:31:07,981]: But it was clear despite the bluster and Trump thinking as a dealmaker they were barreling towards a nuclear bomb [00:31:15,021]: And Israel in what again is what will go down as this remarkable military operation took out what is the equivalent of the Joint Chiefs Staff the head of the army killed them all within minutes of each other [00:31:29,581]: And then because essentially the Iranian air defenses have been totally obliterated Israel not only controls the skies but what became clear here they control the ground [00:31:40,641]: And that is the Mossad has so deeply penetrated the intelligence arm of the IRGC that everyone is vulnerable [00:31:47,041]: And just as interesting as who they killed is who they didn’t kill [00:31:51,961]: They didn’t take out any political leadership [00:31:54,281]: But this is essentially in my view taken back Iran a year two years hopefully three years from nuclear capabilities or nuclear bomb capabilities which I just think it’s hard to argue that that’s a bad thing [00:32:07,221]: Now having said that having said that war in the Middle East rarely turns out as you had hoped [00:32:13,801]: It’s just I mean there is there is a real risk here anytime there is war in the Middle East [00:32:19,481]: This wasn’t a military operation [00:32:20,801]: I do think these two nations are at war right now [00:32:23,621]: I also want to acknowledge that there is a legitimate concern that this is a wag the tail situation where Netanyahu similar to Trump is running to stay out of prison [00:32:33,018]: And unfortunately and this is tragic if we had better leadership in the White House and a president who didn’t see his ability to get reelected based on a war footing that Trump wouldn’t be taking planes from Qatar he’d be putting pressure on Qatar to put pressure on Hamas and that Netanyahu would be more sincere about trying to end the ongoing let’s be honest death and destruction in Gaza [00:32:59,378]: So this is I mean this is a complicated situation [00:33:03,358]: But if you look at the IDF they took more terrorists off our most wanted list in six weeks than we had done in 20 years and Iran not having a nuclear bomb I just fail to see how that is anything good anything but good anything but good for the West [00:33:18,818]: So quite frankly again I’ll finish where I started [00:33:21,358]: I believe the IDF and the Ukrainian army are doing the West’s dirty and dangerous work and should be celebrated for it [00:33:28,978]: Well that may be [00:33:30,598]: But now what happens and I think it’s really interesting that there is a real shift in the MAGA coalition in terms of America first and of course Trump said America first is whatever I say it is because I invented it which he didn’t of course [00:33:44,578]: But it’s a it’s a question of what now and how do you stop it [00:33:48,678]: Like I think a lot of people I admire who I pay attention to are like okay it’s the right thing to do but you don’t know the right way to stop it right [00:33:58,818]: Because they’re in their fourth day of heavy strikes and the attacks are not going down they’re going up right [00:34:04,938]: And this is obviously a volatile area open to any kind of like continued fighting in the Mideast is something that cannot happen [00:34:13,518]: And I think it’s you know especially with Netanyahu’s interest I think Netanyahu has other ideas besides peace right [00:34:23,878]: He doesn’t want peace [00:34:25,898]: Yeah that’s a legitimate concern [00:34:26,458]: So this is like I get that you want to take out these generals I get that you want to take this the fact that we managed to get him not to kill the main leader is something I guess [00:34:36,638]: But it’s it just seems like any number of bad things could happen here [00:34:41,058]: And that’s the No doubt [00:34:42,638]: And Trump is not the president you want in this situation right [00:34:45,478]: He may you may agree with him but boy is he nuts [00:34:48,598]: And so I think that’s the problem we have here [00:34:51,938]: And a lot of you know a lot of the smart thinkers are like good but good but kind of thing [00:34:58,918]: This is a bad decision between bad decisions but you described it it distills down to one fulcrum or one decision and that is the risk of going to war against Iran is a real risk [00:35:10,478]: There’s going to be unintended consequences here [00:35:12,538]: The calculus is the following [00:35:14,158]: Are those risks outweighed by the risks of Iran being closer to a nuclear weapon [00:35:18,078]: Right [00:35:18,358]: And I would argue that the former risks are the ones worth taking [00:35:22,458]: And I do believe that unlike a lot of people in the Republican Party and some on the far left I do believe there is a bad piece and I believe there are good wars [00:35:32,638]: And it was clear a lot of nonpartisan agencies were saying that Iran was engaged in deception and moving closer and closer to a nuclear weapon [00:35:41,878]: And while their air defenses were down they have been pretty you know there really hasn’t been a lot of civilian casualties in Iran [00:35:47,798]: So I think what they’re saying is OK if you continue to have a clock in the middle of Tehran that’s counting down to our destruction and saying what the equivalent of saying amen in the U S is death to Israel is a common common phrase at the end of every sentence that we are going to take preemptive action against you [00:36:07,378]: And what what I don’t know what is interesting here [00:36:11,758]: Is whether or not Israel said to the U S we’re doing this [00:36:15,858]: We feel that this is too big a risk to ignore or and or they were totally coordinated with the U S who was claiming they were supposed to have talks today and whether it was a coordinated head fake and the U S engaged in it because without U S at least cooperation the Israeli air forces flying F 15s and I think it’s F 35s they can’t even repair them if the U S were decide to not support support Israel [00:36:42,018]: So some level of cooperation is probably taking place here especially around propaganda around Iran was caught totally flat footed [00:36:51,478]: They thought they were about to head into negotiations on Sunday but they made their point [00:36:55,638]: Right [00:36:55,918]: And so one [00:36:56,898]: I’m sorry [00:36:57,238]: Who’s made the point [00:36:57,978]: Israel in terms of doing this [00:36:59,798]: So one of the things there’s no it’s called [00:37:01,738]: I guess it’s called D D [00:37:04,578]: conflictation is the word [00:37:05,878]: But it’s like de escalation [00:37:08,218]: It’s like that [00:37:08,858]: But it’s de confliction de confliction I guess [00:37:11,818]: And obviously apparently one of the key sites the enrichment site is buried deep underground [00:37:17,178]: And so it’s you know it’s one of these things that might be impossible to do but you can cause it damage or slow it down et cetera et cetera [00:37:24,938]: I mean I don’t know a lot [00:37:26,058]: This is not my area of expertise but but the thing is it all it depends on on President Trump again because we have the ability to help them do that [00:37:38,318]: Right [00:37:38,378]: To really destroy the nuclear bombs that are being made there [00:37:43,258]: And whether the United States intervenes is I think a big decision and has huge consequences [00:37:51,498]: Anyway he probably wants to avoid direct fighting since his whole thing was let’s not get the wars everywhere [00:37:58,098]: So and now with these he’s he’s been negotiating with Iran by the way [00:38:04,138]: So it’s all come down to Trump and I’m like oh the military parade guy [00:38:09,298]: As people who if you’re like me who doesn’t believe the president and his national security team are top notch what better ally to have that they can do this I would argue strategically and as effectively [00:38:21,018]: What was what was interesting here is that what I found interesting is to your point these hardened targets we have bunker busters and go about 20 or 30 meters down [00:38:30,398]: But if they dig deep enough and have you know these centrifuges the question you’re bringing up is how much can you you know decapitate of their nuclear programs [00:38:39,678]: Within minutes they killed you know several very top ranking military officials [00:38:45,398]: They also killed two or three top of their top nuclear scientists [00:38:49,658]: But what I think what is so must be so chilling about the IRGC right now or the Iranian leadership what they may be thinking is that essentially the Mossad now has control of the ground [00:39:02,258]: And that is they basically demonstrated we can kill anybody here [00:39:07,178]: And if you’re a mid level security part of the security apparatus in Iran you got to be thinking OK what did I sign up for here [00:39:14,518]: Because nobody I mean imagine in the U S if all the joint chiefs had been murdered or killed the head of the Navy the head of the army and our top six scientists and AI were all dead within 30 minutes we would recognize all right we had been totally our security apparatus had totally broken down [00:39:35,618]: And that’s what’s happened in Iran [00:39:37,438]: I think today the Middle East is actually a safer place than it was on Thursday [00:39:42,438]: Interesting [00:39:42,958]: I just think escalation of this war is so disturbing [00:39:46,418]: Anyway we’ll see if it’s up to Trump we may be able to do a better job than his military parade [00:39:52,198]: All right Scott let’s go on a quick break and we come back [00:39:54,758]: The White House reviews SpaceX contracts and the fallout of the Trump Elon feud [00:39:59,658]: Scott we’re back with an update on the girls who are fighting [00:40:02,498]: I don’t care if you’re mad I say that [00:40:03,978]: It’s funny by which I mean Donald and Elon [00:40:06,498]: The White House directed the Defense Department and NASA to gather details on billions in contracts with SpaceX [00:40:13,058]: And they should [00:40:13,978]: This is a good thing [00:40:14,878]: You shouldn’t have one person running things [00:40:16,778]: The Pentagon is reportedly thinking about scaling back SpaceX involvement in the Golden Goom which is this protective shield whatever the heck thing [00:40:23,878]: Meanwhile President Trump said he was amazed Elon ever endorsed him [00:40:26,998]: Let’s listen to a clip which literally does sound like a breakup [00:40:30,418]: Now I know why Elon doesn’t like me so much which he does actually [00:40:34,878]: He does [00:40:35,618]: And he never had a problem [00:40:36,938]: You know it’s very interesting [00:40:37,998]: This is not something new [00:40:39,698]: This has been there from day one Speaker right [00:40:42,278]: We’re going to abolish the E V mandate [00:40:45,038]: And Elon still endorsed me because honestly he never ever spoke to me about that [00:40:51,138]: And I used to say I’m amazed that he’s endorsing me because that can’t be good for him [00:40:56,078]: I’m abolishing the E V mandate [00:40:58,498]: And I once asked him about it [00:41:00,218]: You never talked to me about that [00:41:01,598]: He said well as long as it’s happening to everybody I’ll be able to compete [00:41:06,178]: It’s a very interesting answer [00:41:07,358]: I thought it was a very honest answer to be honest with you [00:41:10,338]: Oh so strange these two [00:41:12,718]: Honestly I should just fucking get it stopped [00:41:15,598]: I mean I don’t know what to say [00:41:18,038]: We’ll see [00:41:19,078]: I mean obviously Elon is under threat by Trump [00:41:22,738]: Who knows if he’ll ever carry through [00:41:26,078]: I think one of the things I’ve always thought is even when Elon got contracts from Lockheed and others I thought that was a good thing because of competition and better cheaper things and this and that [00:41:38,318]: So they’d certainly have an upper hand here and shouldn’t [00:41:43,078]: There should be lots of competitive bidding on this stuff as competitive as it can be because it’s the government [00:41:48,218]: But it’s such a strange relationship [00:41:51,998]: I think Trump’s passed him [00:41:53,718]: I do think Trump’s passed him [00:41:55,298]: But I don’t know about what you think [00:41:56,778]: He keeps trying to kiss up to Elon keeps trying to kiss up to Trump [00:42:00,518]: I think this is kind of over [00:42:01,798]: Well what is it Occam’s Razor the obvious answer is usually the right one [00:42:06,618]: I think it’s pretty obvious what’s happened here [00:42:08,938]: And that is Elon got the president elected or at least played a major role in his election and as a result believes he should have input you know was comfortable usurping congressional power and the power of the person making not even administrative suggestions around cutting costs or trying to root out you know waste and fraud but making political decisions that we should cut off USAID which supposedly or reportedly according to the Boston University is already responsible for 300 000 incremental deaths [00:42:36,718]: He was comfortable doing that and then felt that he should have been put around the picks around the IRS the CIA NASA and people in the White House got sick of an unelected co president [00:42:48,678]: Elon got very angry and started and then to his quarter of a billion followers accused the president of being a sex criminal [00:42:56,038]: Didn’t bother him before when he was allowed to the White House in his hot topic outfit with a black eye but when he got basically kind of shoved out of the White House decided that the president was a pedophile [00:43:07,338]: And then what hasn’t been reported but I believe will be reported because it seems fairly obvious to me is somebody whether it was Speaker Johnson or a go between I don’t know Peter Thiel I don’t know who the kind of emissary there’s always a go between called Trump and said OK I’m sorry called Musk and said OK I don’t think you realize who you’re fucking with [00:43:25,738]: This is what he could do in about 30 to 90 days [00:43:29,518]: Cancel every contract every subsidy across SpaceX and Tesla respectively which would take the value of SpaceX from 300 billion to about 100 and probably put Tesla out of business [00:43:41,038]: He could threaten to deport you [00:43:43,118]: He could start looking in [00:43:44,258]: He could set the IRS on you [00:43:45,598]: He could rehire and triple the number of inspectors generals who are trying to put in safety standards around your autonomous driving [00:43:53,098]: And then Tesla goes from being worth 900 billion to being worth 50 billion [00:43:56,918]: I mean he could do that in about 90 days [00:44:00,518]: And somebody communicated that to Musk and Musk realized oh maybe I went too far [00:44:07,038]: And that was his next tweet [00:44:08,578]: He didn’t all of a sudden in a fit of sobriety coming down from Kay decided that he had lost control of his id [00:44:15,598]: Somebody called him and said listen bitch this you fucked with the wrong cowboy [00:44:20,318]: Whether you like this cowboy or not he’s got the biggest badge in town and he can literally put you out of business and deport you [00:44:28,838]: Somebody made that call because that’s the truth [00:44:31,638]: The president of the United States though though he’s let me just say though so so far in his Twitter he was sort of supporting him on the protests and stuff but that’s out of the news right now [00:44:41,958]: Right [00:44:42,238]: All the all those protests [00:44:44,258]: What is interesting is all he’s doing is Tesla things and things self aggrandizing how good he is and people complimenting him on Twitter [00:44:51,618]: And then every now and then he’s put up these no kings no gods or kings only men no gods or kings only men which is acting like a drug addict [00:45:01,798]: I know [00:45:02,018]: But I was like what’s he doing [00:45:03,458]: Because he’s not just say it like we keep looking for [00:45:07,358]: We keep looking for reason and rational behavior here [00:45:10,218]: Why is he putting those up [00:45:11,838]: He didn’t put those up [00:45:13,098]: Cara he’s a fucking drug addict [00:45:15,658]: All right [00:45:16,418]: But I’m like he can’t help himself [00:45:18,678]: Right [00:45:19,758]: I mean most of it is like isn’t the future with Elon Musk or rockets and cool cars [00:45:25,298]: And like he just has all this complimentary stuff up which is sad [00:45:30,038]: But like can you imagine [00:45:31,778]: I’m so great [00:45:32,698]: Look how people think I’m great [00:45:34,158]: But I think Trump is going to just put him put baby in the corner and keep [00:45:40,278]: He already has [00:45:41,178]: But keep somebody [00:45:42,298]: Somebody called Musk and said OK Elon are you relatively non high right now [00:45:47,738]: Call me when you have 10 or 15 minutes where you feel like relatively not out of your fucking head [00:45:52,758]: And I’m just going to break down what the president this president who is corrupt and willing to avoid the courts or bypass the courts [00:46:02,898]: This guy will deport you Elon [00:46:05,758]: This guy will this guy will this guy will cut off all subsidies the next day to you [00:46:10,778]: How are you going to explain that to the Democrats either [00:46:13,858]: It’s just like oh no that he would because the Democrats will honor the Constitution in courts [00:46:19,198]: I don’t know [00:46:19,938]: I think they’re going to target him like before [00:46:23,218]: He was like they’re targeting me [00:46:24,318]: I’m like they’re really not [00:46:25,098]: And I’m like I think they’re going to this time [00:46:27,498]: But what you what you’re highlighting [00:46:29,998]: I’m sorry [00:46:30,518]: I didn’t mean to go ahead [00:46:31,458]: I’m just thinking what you’re highlighting is why autocracy is so dangerous because quite frankly in the short run it’s so much more effective because if you believe Biden would never do this to me Biden would never threaten to cut off my subsidies or do an illegal asymmetric targeted attack against my companies or me individually I am safe to shitpost Biden [00:46:54,638]: But be careful [00:46:56,518]: Don’t come out and say anything bad about the autocrat who’s willing to bypass the courts and prosecute his perceived political enemies [00:47:04,118]: That’s the danger of an autocracy is it appeased to him [00:47:11,538]: I think he’s I think he really overplayed his hand really rather badly [00:47:15,338]: I say I wonder if it could go the other way [00:47:17,438]: And that is they’re nicer to him [00:47:19,238]: No [00:47:19,558]: Well I just wonder Kara I wonder if a decent strategy and again just about controversial [00:47:25,358]: Yeah but go ahead [00:47:25,938]: I think what you’re going to say go try and invite Elon back into the Democratic Party [00:47:30,718]: That’s just you should [00:47:32,158]: O Connor sort of brought it up but he didn’t exactly even [00:47:35,278]: And to be fair to him he didn’t actually say [00:47:39,218]: But Andrew Yang said it and they got like run over like a mower like a power mower [00:47:46,298]: It was interesting [00:47:47,658]: But you said something [00:47:49,118]: Occasionally you say things that do resonate with me [00:47:51,278]: And you said something a few weeks ago or a couple of weeks ago that didn’t made a ton of sense to me [00:47:56,578]: And I’ve been talking about it [00:47:58,478]: We got attacked mostly you online for suggesting that Obama come back [00:48:02,998]: Oh yes [00:48:03,558]: And people are angry [00:48:06,118]: Questlove attacked me [00:48:07,178]: Who is Questlove [00:48:08,018]: Questlove the amazing artist [00:48:10,998]: I’m sorry Questlove [00:48:12,458]: Anyways but basically they said look it’s not up to Obama [00:48:15,158]: We need new leadership [00:48:16,738]: It’s insane of you to expect him to come say [00:48:18,858]: I mean but and I think that’s a valid opinion but that the attacks got personal [00:48:25,538]: And I thought to myself what you said is exactly right [00:48:28,718]: The Democrats are just [00:48:30,014]: the first to attack allies that are imperfect [00:48:34,074]: And I thought and I don’t weigh in any more on I don’t weigh in any more on the comments [00:48:38,094]: I just don’t do it for my own mental health [00:48:39,914]: And I find it’s not productive [00:48:41,194]: People don’t wanna have a civil conversation [00:48:42,454]: So glad you’re reading my comments now [00:48:44,334]: You’re just wandering over there [00:48:45,454]: Well no but people attacked you [00:48:47,054]: Yeah they did [00:48:47,434]: People started strafing me because I co hosted the show with you [00:48:50,894]: And I thought you know what folks [00:48:52,674]: We’re not gonna regain the White House with a Democratic Party that is less popular than a party head by a fascist [00:48:58,674]: If we start saying to the guy next to us fuck you you’re holding the gun wrong [00:49:02,534]: You’re my ally but I don’t like the way you’re holding the gun [00:49:05,934]: I it was interesting [00:49:07,974]: Let me just weigh in [00:49:09,354]: I did get attacked and Questlove really did attack me [00:49:12,334]: Listen I get your arguments [00:49:13,994]: I don’t want a magical black man to come and save us [00:49:16,914]: That’s not what I was sayingTranscribe your media with TRNSCRB.
